Country music superstar is one of the best-selling country artists of all time. Her solo albums and singles are all credited to the single name Wynonna.
Born Christina in Ashland, Kentucky in May of 1964, Wynonna moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music in 1979. Christina then adopted the stage name "Wynonna" after the song “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66”.
Her native Ashland is located on a southern bank of the Ohio river. As the largest city in Boyd County, Ashland is often referred to ”Tri-State Area”. Ashland is an important economic hub for northeastern Kentucky.
